Q. What is National Youth Sunday?

  • A day dedicated by the Bishops of India to the Young People of India.

 

Q. When is it?

  • 2nd Sunday of August

 

Q. Where will it be celebrated?

  • By youth in their local parishes, zones, diocese or institutions.

 

Q. What is the significance of this day?

  • Youth will gather in the churches & institutions on this day and celebrate the Holy Eucharist (a special youth mass) and make a collection. This contribution shall be sent to the Diocesan Finance office and thereafter to CCBI.

  • Young people would mark this day by organizing community programmes, recreation, outreach, fellowship, competitions, mela/fete etc, to celebrate their youthfulness & faith. The CCBI Youth Commission also urges all the faithful & religious leaders of the country to pray specially for all the young people across the world, especially of our country.

Keeping in mind the present situation of Covid-19 we request everyone to keep up with government guidelines and observe the day in the best way possible. There could be virtual interactions, creative activities & other community programmes keeping in mind social distancing and other necessary measures.
